Named both in honor of a nearly forgotten logging town nestled in the pines as well as the Maverick spirit of great independence in thought and action, the Maverick Magazine was first published in February of 2002 in response to the call for truly local journalism dedicated to serving our communities’ non-profit organizations, supporting our local small businesses and sharing the stories of the art, food, places and people of the White Mountains and Rim Country area.
